Background Screening Process

Getting Started
  1. After you have been assigned a task to complete your background screening information, you will receive an email communication like the one below.
  2. You can access the portal login page by clicking on the link provided in #2, highlighted above. Once on the login page, you will enter the temporary password provided in the email communication. Click Sign In.
  3. You will be prompted to update your password to a permanent one of your choosing. Click Change.
  4. Once you are logged in, assigned tasks will be visible under My Inbox. Click Launch task to start the process.
  5. You will be asked to provide consent to use an electronic signature. Please select I Agree to Use an Electronic Signature. Note: If you decline, you will be asked to download a paper copy of the release form and provide the signed form to your potential employer. 
  6. Review the following disclosures and notices; click Continue on each page.
Complete the Authorization Form

Step 1: Enter all required data for your Personal Information:

  • First Name
  • Middle Name (enter “None” if you do not have a middle name)
  • Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Email Address
  • Social Security Number
  • Current address
  • Please note that Country/Region is not pre-selected for you. Be sure to select the appropriate country.

Step 2: Check off the I have carefully read and understand this notice and authorization form checkbox.

Step 3: Confirm your electronic signature.

  1. You may use the auto-generated signature provided for you
  2. Or, you may draw your signature & initials

Step 4: Click I Understand and Agree to submit the electronic disclosure.

Complete the Screening Authorization Form

Step 1: Check off the I have given signed authorization to this organization to conduct this screening checkbox.

Step 2: Complete all required information for your Candidate Profile.

  • First Name
  • Middle Name (check the No Middle Name box if you do not have a middle name)
  • Last Name
  • Alternate First Name/Maiden/Last Name, if applicable
  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone number
  • Current address
  • Previous Residence (optional)
  • If you would like a copy of the report sent to you by email, please check off the provided checkbox.

Step 3: Hit Continue

Finishing Up

NOTE: In some cases, you may be asked to provide additional information, such as your education or credential information, as shown below. Please be sure to enter all required information if this applies to you. 

On the next screen, review all information entered for accuracy and hit Submit.

Once completed, you will receive a confirmation screen providing your ticket ID. This ticket ID should be referenced when contacting Sterling Talent Solutions Customer Support regarding your background check. You may Sign Out or Return to Dashboard.
