Direct Deposit

All Georgia Tech employees are encouraged to take advantage of direct deposit to receive their pay. By using direct deposit your pay is automatically deposited in up to a maximum of 3 accounts of your choice each pay day. The details of your earnings can be viewed through TechWorks prior to payday.

Advantages of using direct deposit are:
  • Direct deposit transactions are fast, reliable and safe.

  • You can control the amount of money that goes into each account.

  • Since there is no paperwork, your paycheck cannot be lost or stolen in the mail.
  • If you are out of town on payday your money is still deposited to your account.
  • You do not have to make a trip to the bank to deposit the check.

How to Sign Up for Direct Deposit

To sign up for Direct Deposit login to TechWorks to enter your information. Select Payroll and Compensation Home – Direct Deposit. Click on the links below for additional information about setting up your accounts.

Employees having difficulty in establishing a checking or savings account should contact Payroll at 404.894.4614 or e-mail pay.ask@ohr.gatech.edu. Employees who do not qualify for a checking and/or savings account will be offered a cash card account in the employee’s name. The cash card will allow Georgia Tech to make payroll disbursements to a local bank and will make it convenient for employees to make ATM withdrawals.

By encouraging direct deposit for all faculty, staff, and students, Georgia Tech can provide better customer service, more efficient payroll systems management, streamlined payroll operations, and significant savings in the payroll operation as well as offer convenience and personal savings for our employees.
